The house
Write to the desk
The desk reads everything sent to one address. Here is that address, what it is for, and what it is not for.
The desk has one address and no form: contact@melodicareykjavik.com. Write in plain text; there is no need for a subject line convention or an attachment.
What the desk is glad to receive
- A correction to any figure, source or statement in a note, with the page and the passage named.
- A measurement from a real room, for instance a reverberation estimate redone with your own dimensions, that confirms or contradicts a worked example.
- A question about a method described on the site: how to time a set, how to run the back row test, how to read a room before the doors open.
- A primary document the desk has missed on a subject it covers.
What the desk cannot help with
The review does not book rooms, does not list shows, does not put performers in touch with houses and does not publish announcements, so a message asking for any of those will get a short and polite no. It also cannot name a room, a night or a person in a note, whatever the merit of the case, because the editorial policy rules it out for everyone alike.
What happens to a message
Messages are read by the desk and kept only for the correspondence they belong to. Nothing is added to a list, nothing is forwarded, and the address is not shared. The details are on the privacy page. A reply is not guaranteed and no reply time is promised; a correction that changes a note is acknowledged on the note itself.
